2025 Boyd Alumna of the Year Shane Jasmine Young '04
Written by: Matt Jacob
After earning her undergraduate business degree in just three years, graduating magna cum laude, Las Vegas native Shane Jasmine Young ’04 found her path taking an unexpected turn — she was expecting twins. She and her husband, Charles, moved back home to be near family, and that’s when Shane discovered the William S. Boyd School of Law’s part-time evening program. It offered the flexibility she needed as a soon-to-be mother. Three demanding years later, she graduated cum laude, ranking 33rd in her class.
While studying for the bar, Shane began her career at Snell & Wilmer, where she had clerked as a student. For more than a decade, she excelled in commercial litigation, fully expecting to make partner — until her heart led her in a new direction. Inspired by her favorite class, Trusts & Estates, and a meaningful pro bono probate case, she pivoted toward helping families plan for the future.
In 2015, Shane left corporate law to serve as general counsel for a financial services firm, and two years later, she and Charles founded Young Law Group, dedicated to helping families protect what matters most. Today, she and her team have guided thousands of clients through estate, business, and personal planning — while also giving back through volunteer work, pro bono service, and her women’s networking group, Women Decision Makers.
Now honored as the 2025 Boyd Alumna of the Year, Shane remains deeply connected to her alma mater — and especially proud that her twin daughters, now third-year Boyd Law students, plan to join the family firm and carry on her legacy.
