Reference librarians are available to answer ready reference questions and to assist patrons in locating sources and using legal research resources. Librarians cannot undertake research for public patrons, and cannot provide legal advice or interpret sources for patrons. Members of the public may reach a reference librarian by visiting the library, by email to lawlibraryrefdesk@unlv.edu, and by phone (702-895-2420).

Residents of Nevada may obtain a guest borrower card by completing a guest borrower request form, providing a current Nevada drivers license or identification, and paying the applicable fee. The check-out period is typically three weeks for circulating materials, and ten items may be checked out at any one time from all NSHE institutional libraries. Late Fees are assessed on materials returned after the due date.

Federal, state and local agencies may obtain free guest borrower cards upon presentation of a letter of request on agency letterhead. For more information, please contact Agnes Semling (agnes.semling@unlv.edu; 702-895-2400) or Brett Miller (brett.miller@unlv.edu; 702-895-2400).

Library faculty are happy to provide tours of the Library facility and collections to interested groups. We ask that all groups of more than 15 planning to visit the Library notify Agnes Semling (agnes.semling@unlv.edu; 702-895-2400) or Brett Miller (brett.miller@unlv.edu; 702-895-2400) prior to the visit. This will help us ensure that needed resources are available, and that other patrons are not disturbed.
