The 2020 Intellectual Property Law Conference will be a day-long virtual experience showcasing exceptional speakers addressing cutting-edge issues in intellectual property law. UNLV professors Marketa Trimble and Mary LaFrance will provide insight into recent developments in conflicts-of-laws issues currently arising in intellectual property cases and in trademarks, respectively. Elaine Wu (Senior Counsel with the USPTO Office of Policy and International Affairs) will discuss developments in and the global ramifications of Chinese Patent Law. University of Utah College of Law professor Jorge Contreras will introduce the implications of the Open COVID Pledge on the development of a COVID vaccine and Douglas Nemec will address ethical issues from an intellectual property practice perspective. Additional pre-recorded CLE will be available. Attendees will also have an opportunity to virtually network with colleagues and our speakers between sessions and during lunch and breaks. The conference will close with an opportunity to participate in our interactive trivia event!
