In this free webinar, experts and experienced professionals discuss how tribal entrepreneurs are developing successful reservation business enterprises, catalyzing and diversifying tribal economies, increasing tribal government capacity, and driving transformation in their communities.

Native American women face numerous complexities in navigating the legal landscape when starting a business in their home communities. Challenges may arise due to the intersection of tribal, federal, and state laws governing economic development, land ownership, and business regulations. In many cases, issues related to land tenure, access to capital, jurisdictional uncertainties, and compliance with diverse legal frameworks can create barriers to entrepreneurship for Native American women.

Join us for this dynamic and interactive mediation training taught by expert and adjunct law professor, Margaret M. Crowley, Esq. This 40-hour training fulfills the requirements of most court-sponsored mediation programs. Participants will be trained in conflict theory, negotiation methods, and mediation process, techniques, and ethics.

The William S. Boyd School of Law will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 2, 2024. 

The Knight Foundation, together with the American Bar Association, the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV and the Nevada Democracy Task Force, are hosting an election law forum at the law school on Wednesday, September 11, 4:30-6:00 p.m.  The title of the event is Knight Election Law Forum - Nevada.  It will be in room 102 at the law school and refreshments will be served.

This webinar will provide an overview of legal education in the US. Participants will learn about programs available, tips on selecting a program, areas of specializations, what to expect in the classroom, the bar exam, OPT and career options after an LLM.

This 45 minute presentation will be followed by 45 minutes of breakout rooms with representatives of each of the law schools. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about programs available.
