Lori Johnson Named Associate Dean for Legal Skills and Public Service
The William S. Boyd School of Law is proud to announce the appointment of Lori Johnson as Associate Dean for Legal Skills and Public Service.
In her new role, Associate Dean Johnson will focus on the law school's robust legal skills curriculum, including upper-level Lawyering Process (LP3) and simulation and practicum courses, as well as extracurricular programs dedicated to public service such as the Christine Smith Community Service Program, Partners in Pro Bono, Public Interest Fellows, and Pro Bono Honors.
An accomplished leader in the national legal writing and skills community, Associate Dean Johnson serves on the Board of Directors for the Legal Writing Institute and is a past Chair of the AALS Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning, and Research. Her exceptional contributions to the legal community have been recognized with the 2023 Rocky Mountain Legal Writing Award and the 2025 Clark County Bar Foundation Liberty Bell Award.
In addition to her new administrative duties, she continues to shape the field of transactional skills and business law as the co-author of the second edition of Nevada Business & Commercial Law (with Professor Benjamin Edwards) and as Co-Editor of the SSRN Law & Rhetoric eJournal. She also recently completed the UNLV Chairs’ Leadership Development Program as part of its inaugural cohort.
