Poverty Law & Policy Clinic

Professor Anderson is a full, tenured Professor of Law.  She serves as a member of the Nevada Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission, a Director on the Board of Nevada Legal Services, and is the Chair-Elect of the American Association of Law School’s Section on Poverty Law. Professor Anderson served as General Counsel for the Nevada Attorney General’s Office from 2019-2021 and began her legal career at the London office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. In 2024, Professor Anderson was honored as the recipient of the UNLV Community Engagement Service Learning Award for her work in the PLPC.

Professor Cook is a Team Chief Attorney in the Children’s Attorney Project at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LASCN) and serves as the National Association of Counsel for Children State Coordinator for Nevada. Prior to joining LASCN, Professor Cook clerked for the Honorable Sandra L. Pomrenze in the Family Division of the Clark County Eighth Judicial District Court. 

Bill is Senior Counsel at Ballard Spahr and a Past President of the State Bar of Nevada (1988-1989) with over 50 years of legal experience in Nevada at all levels of government. He has served as President of the boards of LASCN and Nevada Legal Services as well as serving many years as a director. Bill served with the Nevada Gaming Commission, from his appointment in 1989 through his tenure as Chairman, 1991 to 1999.  Bill served as County Counsel for Clark County, Nevada, from 1979 to 1989, and as Deputy District Attorney from 1975 to 1979.
