Outreach Youth Career Camps – Law and Order Camp
The William S. Boyd School of Law is partnering with the Division of Educational Outreach to offer two week-long summer career camps (“Law and Order Camp”) for teens this July. The primary mission of the Law and Order Camps are to encourage and motivate young people to explore their talents and interests and consider a career in the law. The camp activities are designed to provide information and opportunities to the camp attendees. Throughout the week, the students will meet with police officers, crime investigators, lawyers and judges and learn about what happens when a crime is committed—from arrest to trial. This is the second year that the William S. Boyd School of Law and the Division of Education Outreach will partner to offer summer programs for youth. According to Dr. Amy Hyams, Director, Community Outreach, “Last year’s program was so well attended and popular we wanted to continue our relationship with the William S. Boyd School of Law and offer a program specifically on careers in the legal professions.” The Law and Order Camps are scheduled for the weeks of July 18 and July 25th, 8:30 am – 12:30pm. The fee for the camp is $199, which includes all activities, transportation to and from all field trips, a t-shirt, morning snacks, lunch and water each day and all instruction and materials. For additional information and registration, please call the Division of Educational Outreach at 894-3394 or Amy Hyams at 895-1022.
